One of our New Castle, Delaware clients is looking to bring on a technology-driven Controller with strong accounting fundamentals. The responsibilities for this role will consist of maintaining overhead budget, managing cash disbursements, assisting with client invoicing and billing transactions, overseeing general ledger maintenance, coordinating with the payroll department as needed, and reviewing bank account reconciliations. They are ideally seeking a highly hands-on accounting leader who can manage core construction accounting functions including WIP accounting, job costing, reconciliations, and financial oversight, while also helping modernize the finance function from a systems and process perspective.
Job Responsibility:
Maintaining overhead budget
managing cash disbursements
assisting with client invoicing and billing transactions
overseeing general ledger maintenance

reviewing bank account reconciliations
managing core construction accounting functions including WIP accounting, job costing, reconciliations, and financial oversight
helping modernize the finance function from a systems and process perspective
Oversee the daily cash receipt postings
Review accounting team accounting transactions
Coordinate budgeting with project team
Assist with the month end close process
Process financial schedules
Create revenue generating internal controls
Implement process improvement where needed
Confirm regular account reconciliation to completion
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or similar
7+ years of proven accounting experience
Construction and/or Real Estate industry experience preferred
