Robert Half Contract Finance & Accounting division is looking for an experienced Controller to oversee financial operations for a nonprofit organization in Reno, Nevada. This long-term contract position requires expertise in managing cash flow, grant accounting, and day-to-day accounting activities. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting organizational goals.
Job Responsibility:
Manage cash flow and ensure effective financial planning for the organization
Oversee grant accounting and compliance, ensuring proper tracking and reporting of grants
Supervise daily accounting operations, including reconciliation and data accuracy
Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and financial documentation
Collaborate with leadership to develop financial strategies and improve processes
Conduct balance sheet and account reconciliations on a regular basis
Ensure timely and accurate financial audits and reporting
Monitor all financial activities to ensure alignment with organizational objectives
Offer guidance and mentorship to accounting staff as needed
Requirements:
Proven experience in cash management and financial planning
Strong knowledge of grant accounting and grant compliance
Proficiency in balance sheet and account reconciliation processes
Familiarity with general ledger management and financial audits
Experience using Abila MIP or similar accounting software
Ability to oversee and improve day-to-day accounting operations
Excellent organizational and analytical skills
Strong communication skills for collaborating with teams and leadership
