We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our startup company based in Los Angeles, CA. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and possesses a strong understanding of financial management and manufacturing operations in a PE backed setting. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving organizational growth while maintaining robust financial controls. This role will be predominately remote with occasional travel to the office required.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee and manage the month-end close process to ensure accurate and timely reporting
Prepare comprehensive financial statements that align with company standards and regulatory requirements
Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to maintain efficiency and accuracy
Manage intercompany accounts and ensure proper reconciliation across entities
Develop and maintain a structured chart of accounts to support organizational needs
Implement and review internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance
Conduct regular internal control reviews to identify and mitigate risks
Collaborate with manufacturing teams to align financial strategies with operational goals
Establish and enforce policies and procedures to support organizational growth
Provide strategic financial insights to support decision-making and long-term planning
Requirements:
Minimum of 7 years of experience in financial management or a related role
Previous experience in a private equity backed organization
Ability to implement policies and procedures to optimize growth in a startup setting
Proven expertise in month-end close processes and financial statement preparation
Strong knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
Experience managing intercompany accounts and performing reconciliations
Solid understanding of internal controls and risk management practices
Familiarity with manufacturing industry financial operations
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
