We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Mooresville, North Carolina. This is a long-term contract position that requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in financial management and compliance. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting strategic financial decision-making.
Job Responsibility:
Process daily financial transactions, including cash receipts and checkbook entries, using Excel
Perform account reconciliations for bank statements, supplier accounts, and other financial records to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies
Manage accounts payable by processing non-inventory bills, preparing payments, and supporting inventory bill entries
Handle accounts receivable tasks, including issuing invoices, preparing monthly statements, and coordinating overdue debt collection with the sales team
Prepare and submit weekly cash flow forecasts to the Group Finance team to ensure accurate reporting and visibility of working capital
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and financial laws, including sales tax calculations and filings
Process payroll, including tax calculations, form submissions, and check distribution, while maintaining accurate employee benefit tracking
Input financial data into accounting software such as Sage and maintain detailed spreadsheets for reporting purposes
Assist in the transition to internet banking and modernize financial systems to reduce manual processing
Provide support for office administrative tasks and ad-hoc duties as needed
Requirements:
Proficiency in scanning and compiling financial documents
Strong skills in month-end close processes and journal entry preparation
Experience with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) management
Ability to prepare and manage detailed journal entries
Familiarity with accounting software such as Sage and advanced spreadsheet tools like Excel
Knowledge of financial compliance regulations and tax laws
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Effective communication skills for collaboration across departments
