Controller

• Direct all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and project accounting
• Prepare and manage accurate financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements
• Oversee job cost accounting, work-in-progress schedules, and revenue recognition based on percentage-of-completion methods
• Ensure compliance with federal regulations and cost accounting standards for government contracts
• Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial plans to support organizational goals
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls to ensure audit readiness for both financial and government audits
• Collaborate with project leaders to assess contract performance and mitigate financial risks
• Manage cash flow and maintain strong banking relationships, including oversight of bonding and financial capacity
• Provide strategic financial insights to executive leadership to support decision-making
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team to achieve departmental goals

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is required
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive accounting experience in the construction industry, with a focus on federal projects
• Proven ability to lead and manage accounting and finance teams effectively
• Expertise in job costing, financial reporting, and construction revenue recognition
• Extensive experience in federal contract compliance, including audits and cost accounting standards
• Proficiency in construction accounting systems such as Deltek or Sage 300
• Strong analytical skills combined with excellent leadership and communication abilities
• Experience with bonding, surety relationships, and financial reporting for contractors is preferred
