Job Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled Controller to join our team in Shawnee, Kansas. In this role, you will oversee all aspects of accounting operations, lead a team of professionals, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership, contributing to strategic decision-making and operational efficiency within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead and develop a team of accounting professionals, promoting a culture of collaboration and excellence
  • Oversee general ledger management, as well as month-end and year-end close processes, to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Prepare and analyze budgets, forecasts, and variance reports to support financial planning and organizational goals
  • Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership to enhance decision-making processes
  • Design, implement, and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and minimize financial risks
  • Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to optimize cost management and maintain inventory accuracy
  • Supervise the timely and accurate processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and other financial transactions
  • Manage tax compliance and coordinate with external auditors to ensure successful audits
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve accounting processes and leverage technology for increased efficiency

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • advanced degree is an advantage
  • At least 5 years of accounting experience, including 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Familiarity with cost accounting principles and experience in manufacturing or industrial environments is highly desirable
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and advanced Excel skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical abilities, with a proven ability to solve complex problems
  • Excellent time management skills, capable of handling multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels
