Job Description:

The Controller position involves supervising accounting personnel, assisting auditors, preparing financial reports, auditing records, monitoring cash flow, implementing software updates, and ensuring adherence to non-profit accounting procedures.

Job Responsibility:

Supervise and train Senior Accountant and Bookkeeper personnel
assist independent auditors by answering questions
monitor cash flow and make banking transactions
compute and analyze financial data
audit expenditures for compliance
prepare various monthly, quarterly, and annual fiscal reports
review work product for accuracy
correspond with officers and account holders
interview prospective employees
implement new software and updates

Requirements:

Experience with fund accounting and non-profit accounting
proficiency in financial statement preparation, month-end close activities, and account reconciliation
familiarity with accounting software systems such as ADP, Blackbaud Altru, and Crystal Reports
ability to supervise and train accounting personnel
experience with auditing and budget processes
strong knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable
ability to implement new software and updates

Nice to have:

Knowledge of 3M accounting software
experience with CRM systems
understanding of donor investment account reconciliation
