Job Description:

We’re seeking a Controller to own the financial operations of a privately held services and technology organization. This is a highly hands-on leadership role, responsible for day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, and partnering closely with executive leadership to drive growth, profitability, and operational discipline. You’ll lead the accounting function, ensure financial accuracy and compliance, and serve as a trusted advisor to the President and executive team.

Job Responsibility:

  • Own day-to-day accounting operations, including G/L, A/P, A/R, payroll, and financial close
  • Prepare and deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Manage cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, and financial risk mitigation
  • Lead and mentor accounting staff through hands-on, in-office leadership
  • Partner with external CPAs and consultants on audits, tax filings, and GAAP compliance
  • Oversee invoicing, collections, and contract billing while actively managing A/R cycles
  • Collaborate with project and department leaders on job costing, margins, and profitability
  • Support expansion into new states through regulatory research and entity registrations
  • Manage insurance policies, employee benefits, and related compliance requirements
  • Build and improve financial systems, controls, policies, and reporting processes
  • Provide financial analysis, dashboards, and insights to support executive decision-making

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CMA strongly preferred)
  • 5+ years of progressive financial leadership experience in a services-based organization
  • Deep knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
  • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks and advanced Excel proficiency
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop accounting teams in person
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to partner cross-functionally with executives
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
