We are looking for a hands-on and strategic Controller to support a high-growth organization with multiple entities and diverse operating lines in Waltham, Massachusetts. This Long-term Contract position will lead core accounting and financial planning activities while strengthening reporting accuracy, cash visibility, and decision-making across the business. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, sound technical accounting expertise, and the ability to build structure in a complex environment while remaining actively involved in daily financial operations.
Job Responsibility
Oversee accounting activities across multiple entities, ensuring accurate records, proper reconciliations, and consistent financial controls throughout the organization
Manage intercompany accounting processes and eliminate balances appropriately to support timely and reliable consolidated financial reporting
Prepare and review consolidated financial statements, including balance sheet and operating results, for a business with several units and varied profit and loss structures
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and broader financial planning efforts to help leadership evaluate performance, allocate resources, and guide strategic decisions
Monitor cash flow, develop financial models, and produce sales forecasts that improve short-term visibility and long-range planning
Establish and refine accounting policies, workflows, and internal procedures to create a more scalable finance function and improve reporting discipline
Support hospitality-related accounting requirements, including inventory activity, account reconciliations, and indirect tax matters such as sales tax
Strengthen financial processes surrounding Sage Intacct to improve data quality, reporting consistency, and operational efficiency
Partner with stakeholders across business units to drive accountability, prioritize financial needs, and deliver accurate statements on a dependable schedule
Requirements
Demonstrated experience serving as a Controller or senior finance leader within a high-growth, multi-entity organization
Strong background in intercompany accounting, corporate consolidation, and preparation of consolidated financial statements
Hands-on expertise with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow oversight, and financial modeling
Experience working with Sage Intacct and improving finance processes within an evolving systems environment
Knowledge of hospitality or similarly complex operational accounting, including inventory and sales tax considerations
Ability to operate as both a strategic leader and an active contributor to day-to-day accounting execution
Strong communication skills with the confidence to influence stakeholders and promote accountability across teams
