Our client, a leader in the manufacturing industry, is looking for an experienced Controller for a 6-month contract with a high probability of transitioning into a permanent position. Located in Langley, BC, this high-impact role provides hands-on accounting leadership across a multi-entity environment and ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial operations to support business continuity. Job Responsibility

  • Direct the activities of the accounting department in accordance with GAAP guidelines, including personnel assignments, month-end close, budgets, and forecasts
  • Coordinate and oversee accounts payable, receivable, and payroll functions
  • Review and approve daily and monthly over-time revenue recognition
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of all corporate reporting requirements
  • Complete monthly variance analysis, evaluate financial performance, and identify cost over-runs or cost reduction opportunities
  • Maintain the actual costing system and internal controls
  • Support other departments to facilitate process improvements related to information systems and business process reporting

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a finance field required
  • CPA designation is required
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in operational accounting required, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • At least 5 years of supervisory or leadership experience is preferred
  • Hands-on experience utilizing SAP is required
  • Deep working knowledge and hands-on experience with US GAAP is a strong asset
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access
  • Experience utilizing Power BI is considered an asset
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
