We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee our client's financial operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of reporting within our organization. Based in Memphis, Tennessee, this role is critical for maintaining compliance with regulations, establishing effective internal controls, and supporting strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in safeguarding company assets and fostering operational efficiency.
Job Responsibility:
Develop and maintain robust internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
Oversee financial reporting processes to ensure timely preparation of weekly, monthly, and annual reports
Supervise and manage banking functions, including payroll, cash flow, accounts payable, and receivable
Collaborate with department leaders to establish and maintain budgetary controls and provide input for annual budget planning
Evaluate and refine internal controls to align with current operational needs and prevent fraud or inefficiencies
Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the office to ensure smooth and efficient functioning
Provide strategic feedback to leadership regarding the achievement of operational and financial goals
Ensure the accuracy of financial data to reflect the organization's performance authentically
Foster a collaborative environment by working closely with managers to promote teamwork and mutual support
Manage financial documentation and transactions, ensuring proper authority and segregation of duties
Requirements:
Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
Strong knowledge of internal controls and compliance standards
Expertise in managing month-end close processes and journal entries
Hands-on experience with banking functions such as payroll, accounts payable, and receivable
Ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights
Excellent organizational and supervisory skills to manage office operations effectively
Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
