Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across functions
Lead the month-end and period-end close process, including review of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
Manage revenue recognition and related accounting considerations, ensuring alignment with applicable guidance and consistency across service-based engagements
Partner with leadership and operational teams to provide financial insights, support decision-making, and ensure alignment between financial results and business activity
Review and analyze financial statements, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency
Establish, maintain, and enhance internal controls and accounting policies to support compliance and mitigate risk
Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance on technical accounting matters, prioritization, and performance development
Support audit processes by preparing schedules, responding to auditor requests, and maintaining organized documentation
Evaluate and optimize accounting systems and processes, leveraging ERP capabilities to streamline workflows and improve data integrity
Prepare and deliver internal reporting packages and ad hoc financial analysis for leadership
Requirements:
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with prior experience in a Controller or Accounting Manager leadership role
Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and revenue recognition within a service-based environment (e.g., professional services, consulting, or similar)
Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle accounting operations and leading month-end close in a fast-paced organization
Hands-on experience with Sage Intacct or comparable ERP systems (NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.)
Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis, reconciliations, and financial modeling support
Proven leadership ability, with experience managing and developing accounting teams
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail
Ability to adapt quickly in an interim capacity and provide both strategic oversight and hands-on execution
