Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Huntsville, Alabama. In this role, you will oversee key financial operations and lead a dedicated team to ensure accurate and efficient accounting practices. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a global leader in the poultry breeding industry.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management
Manage and lead a team of nine, including two direct reports, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
Supervise the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
Implement and manage accounting software systems, supporting operational efficiency
Prepare reconciliations for general ledger accounts, balance sheets, and other financial records
Develop and maintain fixed asset accounting processes to ensure proper tracking and reporting
Collaborate with senior finance leadership to support budgeting and forecasting initiatives
Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards across all financial operations
Lead efforts related to upcoming system implementation projects
Provide mentorship and training to team members to foster growth and development

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
CPA required
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in manufacturing or cost accounting
Proven leadership experience managing teams and driving results
Proficiency in accounting software systems, including Microsoft Great Plains
Strong knowledge of operational accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management
Expertise in month-end close processes and financial reporting
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Ability to work on-site and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
