We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our dynamic team in New York, New York. Job Responsibility:
Lead all aspects of accounting and financial operations, including monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
Develop and manage the accounting team, fostering growth and establishing processes to support organizational scaling
Collaborate closely with executives to provide insights and analysis that guide financial strategy and decision-making
Oversee audit and tax processes, including coordination with external auditors and advisors, ensuring compliance and smooth reviews
Implement and upgrade financial systems to improve data flow and operational efficiency across the organization
Drive continuous process improvements to enhance scalability and operational effectiveness
Ensure compliance with US GAAP and other relevant accounting standards
Manage payroll and equity accounting processes with precision and accuracy
Develop and maintain general ledger operations, ensuring seamless integration of journal entries and financial data
Act as a key partner in forecasting and financial planning, contributing to long-term business growth
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Controller or senior accounting leader in high-growth or early-stage environments
Strong technical accounting expertise, with a solid understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting
Familiarity with QuickBooks and other accounting software tools
Experience with month-end close processes and annual audited financial statements
Background in equity accounting and payroll management
CPA certification strongly preferred
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage ambiguity effectively
