Our client is looking for an accomplished Controller to join a thriving construction company located in the Mahwah, New Jersey area. This role is ideal for an experienced and detail-oriented individual with extensive experience in construction accounting and leadership capabilities. As a key member of the executive team, you will oversee financial operations and contribute to the company’s strategic growth.
Job Responsibility:
Supervise and provide guidance to a small accounting team, ensuring high performance and accuracy
Manage all aspects of company billings and ensure timely invoicing
Collaborate with senior management on special projects to support organizational goals
Identify and implement system improvements and process enhancements for operational efficiency
Lead the budgeting and forecasting process to align with company objectives
Prepare detailed cash flow analyses to maintain financial stability
Oversee the monthly financial close process and generate accurate financial statements
Conduct job costing and analyze project profitability to maximize returns
Requirements:
7+ years of experience in construction accounting within small to mid-sized organizations
Proven ability to manage and mentor accounting teams effectively
Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
Expertise in job costing and profitability assessment
Experience in overseeing financial close processes and preparing financial statements
Proficiency in implementing system improvements and driving operational efficiencies
Exceptional organizational and leadership skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
