We are looking for a Controller to lead core accounting and financial operations for a manufacturing organization in Concord, North Carolina. This position will play a central role in maintaining accurate financial records, delivering timely reporting, and providing insight into product profitability and cost performance. The ideal candidate brings strong manufacturing accounting expertise, a sharp eye for detail, and the communication skills needed to partner effectively across operations, purchasing, and leadership.
Job Responsibility:
Direct the monthly close process, ensuring financial results are completed accurately and on schedule
Prepare and review financial statements and management reports that support business decisions
Analyze product margins and cost performance to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
Maintain manufacturing cost accounting processes, including standard costing and related variance analysis
Oversee purchasing controls by managing purchase order activity and helping ensure proper financial oversight of procurement
Monitor inventory records and valuation to support accurate reporting and effective stock control
Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank activity to maintain the integrity of financial data
Partner with internal stakeholders on accounting process improvements, including support for the transition from QuickBooks to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
Requirements:
Proven experience in a Controller or senior-level accounting role within a manufacturing environment
Strong background in standard cost accounting and inventory-based financial management
Hands-on knowledge of month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
Experience reviewing margins, analyzing costs, and translating data into actionable business insight
Familiarity with purchase order oversight and procurement-related financial controls
High attention to detail with a disciplined approach to accuracy and organization
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work across multiple departments
Exposure to QuickBooks and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is strongly preferred
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
