Job Description:

We’re working with a local organization in the Liberty Lake area that has an immediate need for interim accounting support due to bandwidth constraints and time-sensitive priorities. Top preference is a Controller-level contractor but we are very open to a strong Senior Accountant or Cost Accountant who can step in quickly, own the work, and operate at a high level.

Job Responsibility:

  • Own month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial review
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and clean up any discrepancies
  • Support cost accounting / inventory analysis (if applicable)
  • Assist with financial reporting and variance analysis
  • Help improve and document processes and internal controls
  • Provide general accounting support to alleviate workload across the team

Requirements:

  • Controller, Sr. Accountant, or Cost Accountant background
  • Strong GL and reconciliation experience
  • Experience in mid-to-large ERP systems (manufacturing or cost environments a plus)
  • Ability to jump in quickly, work independently, and drive results
  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach
  • Proven experience in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of month-end close, financial statement preparation, accruals, reconciliations, and controllership practices
  • Demonstrated expertise in cost accounting, including standard costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis
  • Experience managing inventory controls such as cycle counts, reserves, and excess or obsolete inventory reviews
  • Ability to partner effectively with cross-functional teams including operations, supply chain, and plant management
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and confidence navigating financial, reporting, and inventory modules
  • Working knowledge of audit support, internal controls, and finance documentation requirements
  • Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to operate effectively in a hands-on contract leadership role
