Robert Half is looking for a skilled, mission‑driven Controller to lead our nonprofit client's accounting operations. We’re seeking a proactive Controller to oversee financial operations and ensure the integrity, transparency, and sustainability of our client's finances. In this key leadership role, you’ll manage all accounting functions, strengthen internal controls, support strategic decision‑making, and help drive the fiscal health of an organization that is making a real impact in the community.
Job Responsibility:
Manage all daily accounting operations, including GL, AP/AR, payroll coordination, monthly close, and account reconciliations
Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, reports, and dashboards
support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Maintain financial systems (QuickBooks, Salesforce) and ensure proper coding, data integrity, and compliance with GAAP and nonprofit standards
Lead audit and tax preparation activities, including schedules, documentation, and support for regulatory filings
Provide financial guidance to staff, oversee internal controls, ensure donor‑restricted fund compliance, and drive process improvements across the organization
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education
5+ years of current non-profit accounting experience
Ability to lead and develop finance teams
QuickBooks desktop experience
Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Nice to have:
MBA and/or CPA
