Controller

• Lead month-end and year-end close, including financial statement preparation and account reconciliations
• Oversee general ledger activity and ensure accuracy of all accounting records
• Manage job cost accounting, including WIP, spec inventory, and land development costs
• Analyze project and community performance, including cost variances and profitability
• Partner with construction, purchasing, and sales teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis
• Review AP activity, subcontractor/vendor accruals, retainage, and lien waiver processes
• Drive process improvements and strengthen internal controls
• Coordinate with external auditors and support audit/tax requests

• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably along with some accounting leadership experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required or equivalent controller experience
• Prior experience in real estate development, construction, homebuilding, or a related industry strongly preferred
• Strong Microsoft Office/Excel (advanced) skills, and prior accounting/ERP system experience
