Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our client's team in Montgomery, Alabama. This Contract to permanent position offers an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual to contribute to our financial operations and potentially transition into a long-term role.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee month-end closing procedures to ensure accurate and timely reporting
Manage and maintain financial records using QuickBooks software
Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports to support organizational decision-making
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations
Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency
Monitor cash flow and manage budgeting activities
Supervise and train entry-level accounting staff to maintain high standards of accuracy
Assist in audits and provide necessary documentation to external auditors
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance financial performance

Requirements:

Proven experience in accounting or financial management, with a focus on month-end close processes
Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders
Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and time-management abilities
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
CPA certification or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory
