We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee and manage the financial operations of our client's manufacturing facility in NE Columbia. This is an on-site role and requires a proactive leader capable of ensuring compliance, driving process improvements, and providing strategic financial guidance. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a commitment to accuracy, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, adhering to U.S. accounting standards
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and bank covenants while managing tax filings and audits
Design, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and enhance financial reporting integrity
Oversee and coordinate month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations
Identify opportunities to optimize accounting processes through automation and system enhancements
Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow plans to meet company needs
Partner with operational and corporate teams on working capital forecasts and strategic financial planning
Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams and business partners to support organizational goals
Coordinate with external accounting firms to ensure audits and tax filings are completed accurately and on time
Provide necessary financial data to the parent company for consolidation and reporting purposes
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
CPA designation is strongly preferred
Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role
Expertise in U.S. accounting standards and principles, particularly within the manufacturing industry
Proficiency in advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with familiarity in accounting platforms
Strong analytical and business acumen, with a data-driven approach to decision-making
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders
Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close processes
