Bay Management Group is searching for a Controller to come onboard our growing company! This individual will be responsible for overseeing 4 staff members (2 managers and 2 staff members), reviewing bank accounts on a daily basis for odd transactions, health care, 401k, reviewing monthly financials (staff will prepare), and any projects that come up. We are targeting someone who has at least 3 years of management experience, is organized, and good at working in a fast paced environment. You should be a forward thinker and want to always look to have your department run smoother and more efficient.
Job Responsibility:
Management of a 12-person accounting team (only 4 of them will report directly to you)
Establish and enforce companywide accounting policies
Serve as the lead Admin on all platforms that we use (Bank, Credit Cards, Quickbooks)
Oversee the year-end 1099s process
Develop and ensure compliance with internal controls
Evolve, maintain, and manage all accounting systems
Work alongside department heads to produce necessary reports
Frequently interact with various levels of management and other departments
Special projects and other duties, as assigned by management
Requirements:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel skills and Quick Books knowledge
Background in accounting or financial management
Minimum of 3 years accounting management experience
Exceptional attention to detail while also maintaining a strategic mindset
Strong organizational, time management and project management skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Nice to have:
AppFolio experience
An aptitude for learning new systems
Prior property management experience
