Job Description:

Robert Half Management Resources is seeking an experienced Controller to join one of our construction clients on an interim basis. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in construction accounting who is ready to lead and manage critical financial operations.

Job Responsibility:

Lead and provide mentorship to a small accounting team, fostering their growth
Oversee and execute all aspects of the monthly financial close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting
Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to support business decision-making
Manage job costing and provide detailed project financial reporting
Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll operations to maintain efficiency and accuracy
Monitor cash flow and develop financial forecasts to support business objectives
Enforce compliance with accounting principles, industry standards, and company policies

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar senior accounting role
Advanced proficiency in Sage 300 (or similar accounting software) and Microsoft Excel
Strong hands-on experience with daily accounting tasks and operations
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to guide and manage a team effectively
Prior experience in a hybrid work environment, combining on-site and remote collaboration
Background in the construction industry, including expertise in percent of completion accounting, work-in-progress schedules, lien management, and job costing
