We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Honolulu, Hawaii. This newly created role offers an exciting opportunity to lead financial operations, provide strategic insights, and work closely with clients to deliver exceptional service. Job Responsibility:
Lead regular client meetings to discuss ongoing projects and address outstanding issues
Conduct thorough technical accounting research and document findings for future reference
Oversee the preparation and review of complex financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance
Apply advanced accounting principles to resolve intricate financial challenges and provide solutions
Coordinate departmental activities and keep leadership informed on key developments
Plan and manage projects, obtaining necessary leadership approvals prior to initiation
Train and mentor staff, review their work, and provide constructive feedback to enhance performance
Deliver insightful business advisory services and make value-driven recommendations to clients
Prepare and analyze internal financial reports, including budgets, forecasts, and management packages
Maintain and update client procedure manuals to ensure up-to-date and efficient processes
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
advanced degree or certification (CPA, CMA, or similar) is strongly preferred
At least 1 year of relevant experience in accounting or financial management
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks (Online and Desktop), and client management software such as Bill.com
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and the ability to address complex financial issues
Exceptional organizational and project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
Experience in preparing financial statements and management reports
Excellent communication and leadership abilities to manage teams and client relationships
Familiarity with document control and scanning processes, as well as compiling financial documents
