Jamie Benway with Robert Half is looking for an experienced Controller to oversee and manage the financial operations of our organization in Lake Oswego, Oregon. This role involves ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic guidance to support business decisions. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in accounting, leadership skills, and a commitment to driving operational efficiency.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and supervise the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to support organizational goals
Oversee compliance with all relevant financial regulations, policies, and tax requirements
Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard the company's financial assets
Collaborate with senior leadership to provide insights and recommendations based on financial data
Manage the accounting team, providing mentorship and fostering growth with attention to detail
Ensure proper documentation and reconciliation of all financial transactions
Monitor cash flow and provide strategic planning for financial sustainability
Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors to ensure compliance
Continuously evaluate and improve financial processes to enhance efficiency
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar financial leadership role
Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Proficiency in financial reporting and month-end close processes
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Advanced proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Effective communication and leadership abilities
Nice to have:
CPA or CMA certification is preferred but not required
