We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Hayward, California. This role is ideal for someone with exceptional organizational skills and a keen eye for detail, particularly in managing and maintaining critical documentation processes. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the integrity and accessibility of organizational records while supporting operational efficiency.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger management, account reconciliations, payroll, AP/AR, budgeting, and financial reporting
Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure accurate, timely, and audit-ready financial statements and reports
Prepare and review financial statements, program cost reports, budget monitoring reports, and required filings for management and external parties
Serve as primary liaison for external auditors, coordinate audit activities, and ensure timely resolution of findings
Oversee fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, and reporting
Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls, financial policies, and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure regulatory compliance
Monitor financial performance, analyze variances and trends, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions to support budget and compliance goals
Lead annual budget development and support forecasting, financial planning, and scenario analysis to promote long-term sustainability
Drive continuous improvement of accounting systems, ERP optimization, reporting automation, and data integrity initiatives in partnership with the CFO
Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure robust data security controls for sensitive financial information
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the CFO
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including payroll, accounts payable, and general ledger oversight
3+ years of experience supervising accounting or finance personnel
Strong skills in budgeting, financial analysis, and strategic planning
