We are looking for a skilled and experienced Controller to manage the financial operations of a dynamic hospitality management group in Gulfport, Mississippi. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance, and driving strategic growth across multiple properties. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting and finance, coupled with leadership capabilities to guide teams and collaborate effectively with senior management.
Job Responsibility:
Lead all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities
Prepare and present detailed financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to executive leadership
Oversee and manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes for various business units
Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local financial regulations, maintaining full compliance
Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and enhance efficiency
Coordinate and support audit processes, liaising with external auditors as needed
Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to finance and accounting staff
Collaborate with property managers and operational leaders to optimize financial performance
Conduct variance analysis and deliver actionable recommendations to improve profitability and manage costs
Evaluate financial aspects of contracts, capital expenditures, and new business opportunities to support decision-making
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, including at least 2 years in a senior or controller position
Proven expertise in hospitality accounting systems and industry-specific metrics
Advanced skills in financial analysis, forecasting, and budget management
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
Strong communication and leadership abilities to effectively manage teams and collaborate with stakeholders
Exceptional attention to detail, integrity, and organizational skills
