We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee and manage the financial operations of our organization in Newark, Delaware. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy of financial records and guiding the organization’s financial strategy.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare and review financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Develop and manage budgets, accurately forecasting revenues and expenses to maintain financial stability
Implement and monitor internal controls to protect company assets and ensure the reliability of financial data
Supervise and lead the accounting team, including hiring, training, and evaluating staff responsible for payroll, compliance, and accounts management
Provide strategic insights to executive management on financial planning, risk assessment, and investment opportunities
Ensure adherence to financial regulations and reporting requirements, coordinating effectively with external auditors during annual audits
Conduct regular audits and establish corrective measures to address discrepancies in financial records
Collaborate with management to align financial goals with overall business objectives and long-term strategies
Oversee compliance processes to ensure alignment with industry standards and legal requirements
Maintain accurate documentation and records for all financial operations and transactions
Requirements:
Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance within a leadership role
Strong knowledge of GAAP and other relevant financial regulations
Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
Proficiency in financial software and tools used for reporting and accounting
Experience in supervising and mentoring accounting teams, including hiring and performance evaluations
Ability to develop and implement effective internal controls and auditing processes
Excellent communication skills to present financial insights to management and stakeholders
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
