Job Description:

The Controller will be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the company. This individual will play a critical role in shaping financial strategy, improving processes, and supporting continued portfolio expansion. Real Estate experience is REQUIRED.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee all core accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting
  • Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long‑term financial planning processes
  • Design, implement, and maintain strong internal controls, policies, and procedures
  • Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and capital planning activities
  • Provide strategic financial insight to support acquisitions, renovations, and growth initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and all applicable regulatory requirements
  • Partner closely with property management and operational teams to drive financial performance
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff

Requirements:

  • Real Estate experience is REQUIRED
  • Demonstrated experience managing the full accounting cycle within a corporate or property-related environment
  • Strong knowledge of month-end and year-end close procedures, financial statement preparation, and account reconciliation
  • Hands-on expertise in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including oversight of transaction accuracy and controls
  • Proven ability to build budgets, develop forecasts, and analyze financial results to support strategic decision-making
  • Solid understanding of internal controls, financial policies, and compliance requirements relevant to accounting operations
  • Experience managing cash flow, banking relationships, and financial planning activities
  • Effective leadership skills with experience supervising, mentoring, and developing accounting personnel
