We are looking for an experienced Controller to join a dynamic small commercial real estate company in Raleigh, North Carolina. In this role, you will oversee all financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance while contributing to the organization’s strategic goals. Job Responsibility:
Manage all aspects of accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and property management accounting
Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with industry standards and deadlines
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management processes to ensure financial stability
Oversee payroll and benefits administration, ensuring timely and precise processing
Coordinate annual audits and maintain relationships with external auditors, banks, and tax advisors
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local reporting requirements, including tax filings
Reconcile bank accounts and monitor investment activity to maintain financial accuracy
Develop and implement robust accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
Collaborate with property managers, executive leadership, and ownership to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making
Utilize property management and accounting software, such as Yardi or QuickBooks, to streamline financial processes
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Proven experience as a Controller or similar financial leadership role within the real estate industry
Strong proficiency in property management and accounting software, including Yardi or QuickBooks
Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax compliance
Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
Excellent communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and external partners
Familiarity with payroll and benefits administration processes
