Controller

• Lead and oversee month-end closing activities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
• Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and relevant regulations
• Manage grant accounting processes, including tracking and reporting on grant expenditures
• Supervise and mentor the accounting team to encourage growth and ensure efficient operations
• Monitor and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all financial data
• Collaborate on the selection and implementation of new accounting software systems to improve operational efficiency
• Ensure adherence to non-profit accounting standards and practices, including fund accounting requirements
• Provide strategic input on financial planning and budgeting to support organizational goals
• Conduct regular audits of financial processes to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting roles, demonstrating attention to detail
• Proven expertise in non-profit accounting, including fund accounting practices
• Familiarity with general ledger management and month-end closing procedures
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring teams
• Proficiency in accounting software
• prior experience with software implementation is a plus
• Knowledge of grant accounting processes and reporting requirements
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities paired with attention to detail
