Controller

• Oversee the monthly accounting close process for a multi-location retail business, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Develop and implement accounting procedures, policies, and internal controls to enhance operational efficiency
• Maintain the general ledger, perform reconciliations, and ensure compliance with reporting standards
• Lead budgeting and forecasting activities, providing financial insights to support strategic decision-making
• Prepare and analyze variance reports, delivering actionable recommendations to management
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations affecting financial operations
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimize workflows to increase productivity
• Provide audit support and ensure seamless execution of financial procedures
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address accounting and financial reporting needs
• Present financial data and performance analyses to stakeholders in a clear and impactful manner

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in accounting roles
• Proven expertise in managing monthly close processes and supporting audits
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and financial modeling
• Experience with QuickBooks or similar financial systems is essential
• Strong knowledge of financial statement review and variance analysis
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgeting and forecasting processes effectively

Familiarity with multi-site, retail, or franchise-based organizations preferred
