We are hiring a Controller who will be responsible for leading and driving the monthly closing process and related activities, ensuring accuracy and completeness of the financial statements, and assisting the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with managing overall accounting operations. This role will serve as a key member of the accounting team and an instrumental player in the month end close, helping to develop policies and procedures to scale within the organization, strengthening internal controls, improving efficiency, and enhancing companywide financial analysis and reporting. This role will report directly to the CFO.
Job Responsibility:
Prepares monthly financial statements including explanation of variance from budget and prior periods
Maintains regular financial and accounting records including month, quarter, and year end closings
Works with Project Accountant and CFO to prepare and analyze monthly “Contracts in Progress” for revenue recognition
Conducts all financial analysis and reporting in collaboration with the CFO
Manages accounts payable process
Trains appropriate employees in all aspects of A/R and A/P
Responsible for audit compliance and managing audit processes
Prepares financial reporting
Develops annual budgets in collaboration with CFO and other managers
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
2- 4 years in public accounting with a focus on Audit preferred
Construction industry experience required
Prior experience as a Controller preferred but not required
