We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee global accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance for a semiconductor company based in San Jose, California. This Contract position requires a strategic leader who can ensure accurate and timely financial reporting while maintaining strong internal controls. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in U.S. GAAP, SEC compliance, and complex accounting areas, including revenue recognition and equity compensation.
Job Responsibility:
Direct the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations
Manage all SEC reporting activities, including filing Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and other disclosures
Lead and develop the accounting team, overseeing general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and technical accounting
Implement and maintain effective internal controls to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
Oversee revenue recognition processes, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 for complex contracts and customer arrangements
Collaborate with sales, legal, and operations teams to assess accounting implications of customer agreements
Supervise inventory accounting and cost of goods sold, partnering with operations to improve cost analysis and visibility
Manage stock-based compensation accounting and reporting, including valuation, disclosures, and reconciliation
Research and apply technical accounting guidance for new and complex transactions, ensuring compliance with applicable standards
Partner with FP& A and executive leadership to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA certification is required
Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
Hands-on experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition and inventory accounting
Previous experience working in a public company environment
Familiarity with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or NetSuite
Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills
