We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee all accounting operations for our organization based in Weymouth, Massachusetts. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented leader with a strong background in inventory costing and hands-on accounting management who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys collaborating with executive teams. The Controller plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes while driving strategic decision-making.
Job Responsibility:
Supervise and manage the company’s accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and inventory
Oversee and optimize inventory control processes, ensuring accurate tracking of shrinkage, damages, returns, and turnover
Prepare and deliver timely financial reports and operational analyses to support executive decision-making
Partner with the operations team to develop budgets, monitor financial performance, and analyze profit and loss statements
Conduct thorough expense analysis and provide actionable recommendations for cost improvement
Ensure effective cash flow management and provide strategies for maximizing financial resources
Manage human resources functions such as payroll processing, employee benefits administration, and handling workers’ compensation and unemployment cases
Lead and mentor accounting and support staff to enhance team performance and productivity
Contribute to the development and implementation of company policies and procedures, aligning them with organizational goals
Collaborate with leadership on both short-term and long-term strategic plans, offering financial insights and recommendations
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on accounting management experience in retail, distribution, wholesale, or a similar industry
Proven expertise in inventory costing and payroll processing
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
Solid understanding of full-cycle accounting processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to work effectively with executive teams
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, especially in financial planning and budgeting
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Proficiency in accounting software and tools relevant to the role
