Job Description:

Our client is looking for a dedicated Controller to oversee the financial operations of their service-based organization in Lexington, Kentucky. This role involves ensuring the accuracy of financial records, compliance with regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to senior management. The Controller will play a key part in managing budgets, analyzing performance, and safeguarding assets.

Job Responsibility:

Lead and manage the company's accounting and finance team to ensure smooth operations
Prepare comprehensive financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor budgets and forecasts
Analyze financial results, identify variances, and implement corrective measures as needed
Ensure adherence to financial regulations, tax laws, and internal policies
Oversee key accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and the general ledger
Conduct internal audits and coordinate with external auditors to maintain compliance
Enhance and maintain accounting systems, processes, and policies for improved efficiency
Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support business decisions
Develop reports for ownership, management, and external stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accuracy

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of accounting or finance experience, preferably in the service industry
Strong understanding of accounting systems and processes
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software tools
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
High attention to detail, integrity, and professionalism
Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively
