A respected non-profit organization in Connecticut is seeking a strategic and hands-on Controller to lead accounting operations and partner closely with executive leadership. Job Responsibility

  • Oversee all accounting operations and monthly close
  • Lead financial reporting and annual audit processes
  • Manage fund accounting, cash management, payroll oversight, and compliance activities
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies
  • Partner with leadership on budgeting, reporting, and strategic financial initiatives
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Higher education or nonprofit experience strongly preferred
  • Prior supervisory experience required
