We are looking for a dedicated Controller to manage the financial operations and accounting functions of our small manufacturing client in Pacoima, California. This role combines hands-on accounting responsibilities with strategic oversight, ensuring accurate financial reporting, efficient processes, and compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will excel in full-cycle accounting, financial analysis, and process improvement while collaborating with leadership and cross-functional teams.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards
Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments
Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions, cost management, and operational efficiency
Oversee cost accounting processes, including labor allocation, inventory valuation, and variance analysis
Collaborate with operations on production reporting, job costing, and scrap tracking to enhance profitability
Manage cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and treasury operations to optimize financial stability
Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit, and collections processes for timely and accurate transactions
Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory compliance
Drive improvements in accounting systems and processes, enhancing accuracy and scalability
Provide leadership and mentorship to accounting staff, fostering growth and collaboration across departments
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment
Proficiency in cost accounting and inventory management practices
Small company experience (less than $25M in annual revenue)
Hands-on experience with accounting systems, particularly in manufacturing settings
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with leadership and teams
Demonstrated integrity, confidentiality, and sound judgment in handling financial information
