Job Description

Robert Half is partnering with a growing manufacturing company in the Glens Falls area seeking a hands-on Controller to lead all accounting and financial operations. This on-site role will oversee day-to-day accounting while providing strategic financial insight to support plant and company leadership.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage full-cycle accounting, including month-end close, financial reporting, and general ledger oversight
  • Lead cost accounting and inventory management, including standard costing, variance analysis, and margin reporting
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
  • Partner with operations leadership to drive cost control, efficiency improvements, and financial performance
  • Oversee A/P, A/R, and day to day accounting functions
  • supervise and develop accounting staff
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
  • coordinate audits and tax filings

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • At least 7 years of accounting experience, including substantial exposure to manufacturing environments
  • Demonstrated background in cost accounting, inventory accounting, and financial analysis
  • Prior leadership experience with the ability to manage responsibilities directly while supervising staff
  • Strong proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel capabilities
  • Solid understanding of month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and financial statement preparation
  • Knowledge of internal controls, variance analysis, and cash management practices
  • CPA/CMA preferred
