The Controller will lead core accounting and financial activities across multiple locations, ensuring accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and timely financial insight for leadership. This role also oversees payroll review, supports budgeting and forecasting, and provides guidance to administrative accounting support staff.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee accounting operations across multiple locations
Maintain the general ledger and ensure financial records are accurate and compliant with GAAP
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Review and perform bank and credit card reconciliations
Manage fixed asset tracking and capital expenditure reporting
Lead the year-end close process and coordinate with external accountants on tax preparation
Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
Ensure accurate and timely recording of all revenue streams across the business
Promote consistency in accounting practices, policies, and procedures across locations
Supervise the Finance Admin responsible for payroll processing, AP/AR and administrative support
Review payroll reporting for accuracy and compliance with applicable requirements
Oversee employee tax reporting, including W-2s and 1099s
Partner with leadership to support annual budgeting efforts
Monitor financial performance against budget and provide variance analysis
Prepare forecasts and cash flow reporting to support decision-making
Identify opportunities for cost savings, stronger controls, and process improvements
Consolidate financial results across all locations
Monitor financial performance by location and operational area
Provide regular financial reporting and insight to leadership and site managers
Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations, reporting requirements, and tax obligations
Oversee sales tax reporting and remittance
Maintain and strengthen internal controls to protect company assets and ensure financial accuracy
Support continuous improvement of accounting workflows and administrative processes
Ensure financial and administrative tasks are completed accurately and on time
Perform other duties as needed to support business operations and financial management
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
5-8 years of progressive accounting or financial management experience
Experience managing full-cycle accounting in a small to mid-sized business environment
Prior experience supervising accounting or administrative staff preferred
Multi-location or multi-entity accounting experience preferred
Proven success improving accounting systems, internal controls, and financial processes
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
Ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights
Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms
Advanced Excel skills
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to thrive in a hands-on environment and manage multiple priorities
Nice to have:
