Job Responsibility

  • Lead the finance team, including accountants, payroll, and accounts payable/receivable staff
  • Develop and implement financial strategies that align with organizational goals
  • Oversee compliance with fund accounting principles, Single Audit requirements, and other regulatory standards
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure financial stewardship and long-term sustainability
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to build a high-performing accounting team
  • Coordinate grant management and reporting to secure and maintain funding for community programs
  • Utilize multiple accounting platforms, such as Sage Intacct, Yardi, and QuickBooks, to streamline financial processes
  • Ensure systems and processes are optimized for document control and stakeholder communication
  • Support initiatives related to affordable housing, early childhood education, and community development

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience in accounting or finance
  • Minimum of 5 years in a nonprofit setting preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Strong expertise in fund accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and Single Audit compliance
  • Proven ability to manage and mentor teams
  • Proficiency in accounting platforms such as Sage Intacct, Yardi, and QuickBooks
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Passion for social equity and commitment to community impact
  • Familiarity with grant management and affordable housing initiatives
