We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Greeley, Colorado. In this role, you will oversee accounting operations and ensure compliance with financial and tax reporting standards. Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, you will play a key part in guiding business decisions by providing accurate financial insights and supporting organizational growth.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare detailed reports to forecast business activities, financial positions, income, expenses, and earnings based on historical and projected data
Assist in creating budgets by reviewing proposals and preparing supporting documentation related to operational and cost accounting
Provide timely financial reviews and updates to management regarding company programs and activities
Continuously enhance accounting practices, financial controls, and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with policies and contractual obligations
Oversee audits of company accounts and ensure accurate reporting
Develop and submit required reports for banks and tax authorities in a timely manner
Manage and reconcile all accounts to maintain accuracy and consistency
Lead, mentor, and foster a high-performing finance team, encouraging collaboration and strong attention to detail in development
Support additional tasks and projects as assigned to meet organizational goals
Requirements:
Proficiency in data analysis tools such as P2 Reporting, Excalibur, and Excel
Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting standards
Familiarity with oil and gas operations, production processes, and industry-specific terminology
Ability to analyze complex data sets and derive actionable insights
Exceptional problem-solving skills to identify trends and underlying causes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey findings effectively to stakeholders
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of seven years of experience in the oil and gas industry, preferably in financial or operational reporting
