Controller

• Supervise daily accounting operations, including payroll, accounts payable, and cash receipts, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
• Lead and mentor managers overseeing payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and established accounting procedures
• Coordinate treasury activities such as cash management, liquidity planning, and financial risk mitigation
• Manage the monthly financial close process, reviewing reconciliations and preparing supporting documentation
• Prepare internal financial reports and operational metrics to support informed decision-making
• Collaborate with auditors and tax consultants by providing required schedules and documentation
• Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes, improving efficiency and strengthening controls
• Foster cross-functional collaboration with departments such as IT, Operations, and senior leadership to support organizational goals
• Provide strategic guidance on financial practices and policies to maintain the firm's financial integrity

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required
• A minimum of 5–7 years of accounting experience, with attention to detail, preferably within a law firm or services environment requiring a high level of accuracy
• Proven experience managing accounting staff and leading payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices specific to legal or services firms where precision is essential
• Proficiency in financial systems, including experience with Elite 3E and Chrome River, is a plus
• Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated leadership abilities with a collaborative and service-oriented approach
