We are looking for an experienced Controller to support a healthcare organization on a contract basis in Cincinnati, Ohio. This role will oversee end-to-end accounting activities across a complex, multi-entity environment and help maintain accurate financial operations for a growing network of urgent care locations. The position is well suited for a hands-on finance specialist with strong attention to detail who can bring immediate structure, insight, and leadership while the organization completes its permanent hiring process.
Job Responsibility
Direct full-cycle accounting activities across multiple legal entities, ensuring timely and accurate completion of month-end and related financial processes
Manage financial oversight for a multi-state healthcare operation, supporting consistent accounting practices across more than 45 urgent care sites
Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and supporting schedules for a business with significant revenue volume
Maintain strong controls over financial records and documentation, including the organization, review, and retention of accounting support materials
Coordinate onsite meetings and collaborate with operational and finance stakeholders in Cincinnati, Ohio to align reporting and business priorities
Support interim controllership needs by providing leadership, resolving accounting issues, and sustaining day-to-day finance operations during the contract engagement
Compile and validate financial and operational documentation to improve accuracy, audit readiness, and reporting reliability
Requirements
Demonstrated experience serving as a Controller or in a comparable senior accounting leadership role
Strong background in full-cycle accounting, including ownership of close processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting
Prior experience in the healthcare industry, ideally within a multi-location or multi-entity setting
Ability to manage accounting activities across several states and business entities with attention to detail and compliance
Proficiency in document control and the handling, organization, and review of financial records
Experience compiling and managing scanned or digitized documentation in support of accounting operations
Effective communication skills and the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams in an onsite environment
