Job Description:

We are currently recruiting for a hands-on Controller for a well-established manufacturing organization in Colorado Springs. As the Controller you will own the financial narrative while directly influencing operations, compliance, and decision-making. For professionals who enjoy building structure, leading teams, and partnering across the business, this role offers both stability and the ability to make an immediate impact.

Job Responsibility:

  • Oversee and review monthly financials (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow) to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Lead and develop a team across AP, AR, invoicing, payroll/HR, and Assistant Controller functions
  • Support financial operations across multiple entities/subsidiaries
  • Drive month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Ensure compliance across all financial functions: Taxes and filings
  • Monthly/quarterly reporting
  • Insurance and benefits administration
  • Partner with leadership on cost accounting, job costing, and operational visibility
  • Play a key role in hiring, training, and strengthening the accounting function

Requirements:

  • Strong foundation in financial statement preparation and ownership
  • Experience in manufacturing environments (cost accounting, job costing, inventory-driven business)
  • Ability to balance hands-on execution with team leadership
  • Comfort operating in a fully onsite, high-accountability environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA preferred
  • ~4+ years of experience preparing full financial statements and managing close
  • Experience with: Job costing / cost accounting
  • AP, AR, invoicing, and collections
  • Balance sheet reconciliations and audit support
  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs)
  • ERP experience preferred
  • QuickBooks Desktop a plus
  • Prior manufacturing experience required
