The Controller will be responsible for managing and performing various accounting functions for multiple client accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and regulations. This role is essential in maintaining accurate financial records, analyzing financial data, and guiding junior accounting staff.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee and manage accounting functions for multiple client accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and regulations
Record and reconcile financial transactions, including bank accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries
Execute month-end and year-end closing procedures, producing accurate financial statements and reports
Collaborate with clients to gather necessary financial information and provide expert guidance on accounting practices and financial best practices
Manage payroll processing, tax filings, and compliance to ensure timely and accurate execution
Analyze financial data, identifying trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement, and present findings to management and clients
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes to support clients' strategic decision-making
Stay abreast with accounting and industry regulations, and software to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, providing training and support to foster professional growth
Utilize GAAP Accounting knowledge and QuickBooks software to manage and analyze financial data effectively
Requirements:
Possession of a minimum of 5 years of experience in the role of a Controller or similar financial management roles
Proficiency in GAAP Accounting and Accounting Principles is mandatory
Experience with QuickBooks or similar financial software is required
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Excellent leadership and management skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or related field
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification preferred
Proven track record in financial project management
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Excellent problem-solving skills and strategic thinking abilities
Strong knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis, corporate finance, and information analysis
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel.
