Controller

• Supervise all accounting functions, including general ledger, cash management, payroll, billing, accounts payable and receivable, inventory accounting, and internal controls
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close processes
• Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity
• Prepare and analyze financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
• Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and scalability as the company grows
• Collaborate on budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and business analytics to support strategic decision-making
• Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and oversee preparation of federal and state tax filings
• Work cross-functionally with teams in operations, logistics, supply chain, and sales to ensure accurate inventory management and costing
• Mentor and develop a team of accounting professionals to foster growth and expertise
• Ensure compliance with company policies, U.S. regulatory standards, and accounting practices

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required
• Proven experience as a Controller in a mid-size or larger organization is essential
• familiarity with import/export, distribution, or food industries is highly preferred
• CPA certification is strongly preferred
• Expertise in U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage accounting teams effectively
• Advanced proficiency in accounting software such as Microsoft D365, Oracle NetSuite, or similar platforms, along with strong Excel and Power BI skills
• Excellent critical thinking, adaptability, and communication skills

Experience in cost accounting and inventory management within a multi-entity or international environment is a plus
