Job Description

Senior accounting leader owning multi-entity consolidations, securitization accounting, and a disciplined close across a high-growth residential transition loan originator.

Job Responsibility

  • Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close across all entities
  • Deliver accurate, timely GAAP financial statements
  • Lead balance sheet reviews and ensure all accounts are reconciled
  • Maintain structured close calendar and eliminate surprises
  • Provide executive-ready financial reporting
  • Manage accounting for parent, subsidiaries, SPEs, and securitization vehicles
  • Oversee intercompany transactions and eliminations
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements
  • Maintain clean intercompany reconciliations
  • Own general ledger structure and chart of accounts
  • Improve systems to support loan-level and entity-level reporting
  • Reduce manual processes and shorten close timelines
  • Maintain strong documentation and audit trails
  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff
  • Establish accounting policies, SOPs, and internal controls
  • Foster accountability and early issue identification
  • Build a culture of ownership and operational excellence

Requirements

  • Current mortgage lending, specialty finance, fintech lending, or structured finance experience required
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • 7-10+ years progressive accounting experience
  • 3-5+ years in a Controller role
  • Strong experience with consolidations and eliminations
  • Deep GAAP knowledge
  • Proven ability to own and deliver a disciplined monthly close
  • The employee in this position must be able to read, write, speak and understand English with exceptional fluency
