Job Responsibility:

  • Lead the organization’s accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting and effective oversight of day-to-day operations
  • Direct monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities while maintaining timeliness, accuracy, and strong internal controls
  • Manage consolidated financial reporting across multiple entities and ensure results are prepared in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Provide expertise on technical accounting matters, researching guidance and applying appropriate treatment to complex transactions
  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to improve financial workflows, strengthen reporting processes, and support business growth
  • Oversee general ledger activity and maintain the integrity of accounting records across the full accounting cycle
  • Coordinate year-end audit preparation and serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors
  • Support compliance initiatives, including adherence to SOX requirements and established control frameworks
  • Travel periodically within the Midwest to collaborate with stakeholders and support regional finance activities

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility within a controller or senior accounting capacity
  • Strong command of GAAP and U.S. GAAP, with demonstrated experience handling technical accounting issues
  • Proven background in financial consolidations and preparing consolidated financial statements for multi-entity organizations
  • Experience managing month-end close, general ledger operations, and full-cycle accounting processes
  • Working knowledge of SOX compliance and internal control standards
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and influence process improvements across the organization
  • Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail and sound judgment
