Job Description

We are partnered with a services company that is looking for a temporary Controller to cover leave for 5-6 month assignment. The position can be fully remote if the candidate lives in PST. There is a preference for someone in SoCal.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead month-end close for the largest operating entity — reconciliations, P&L review, and driving close cycle efficiency through automation and systems improvements
  • Own consolidated financial statements across parent and subsidiary entities, ensuring accuracy and GAAP compliance
  • Drive standardization of accounting policies across subsidiaries
  • develop and implement financial policies in response to operational and internal control needs
  • Lead technical accounting on complex areas: business combinations, revenue recognition, lease accounting, equity-based compensation, intercompany eliminations
  • Monitor and implement new accounting standards as they impact the organization
  • Own external audit planning and execution
  • Support tax compliance and acquired entity integration
  • Develop and coach an accounting team of 6–10

Requirements

  • CPA required
  • 3+ years Big 4 or nationally recognized public accounting firm
  • 5–10 years industry experience
  • construction or distributed services a plus
  • Experience leading accounting teams and consolidating multi-entity financials including footnotes
  • Strong technical GAAP background with hands-on policy implementation
  • ERP experience (Great Plains, NetSuite, or similar)
  • integration experience a plus
  • Advanced Excel, MS Teams, SharePoint
